Liquid Bulk Storage Compound
The tank farm at the Port of Belledune is an ideally located-to-dock side, liquid bulk storage facility for companies shipping petroleum products – anything ranging from kerosene to home heating oil and gasoline. The site is modern, well maintained, secure, and closely monitored to ensure the safety of both people and product. Recently, the site was reconditioned, tested, and certified. The work included the installation of a new pump system to move liquid cargo from the site to ship. Comprised of seven tanks, the tank farm has a total capacity of 45 million litres (11.89 million US gallons) and is directly linked to the terminal by a 300 mm (12 inch) pipe that can handle an average flow from a tanker of over 1 million litres (264,000 US gallons) per hour and using the return pump we can achieve over 900,000 litres (238,000 US gallons) per hour. The site has truck loading and unloading facilities, storage sheds, space for small offices on site, access to rail and highway, and all required emergency spill response equipment. The port offers excellent rates for liquid bulk (petroleum cargo) storage and for berths, making it the most economical choice for shipping bulk liquids.
