Welcome!

On behalf of all of us here at the Belledune Port Authority, welcome to our website!

The Belledune Port Authority offers modern equipment and infrastructure which includes a barge terminal, a roll on-roll off terminal and a Modular Component Fabrication Facility. We are a year-round, ice-free and deep-water port that offers efficient stevedoring always ensuring the integrity of your cargo. The Port has ample outdoor terminal storage space and several indoor storage facilities -- a definite competitive advantage for bulk, break-bulk and general cargo handling.

Overview of 2016

Armed with a new strategic direction that would enhance our capabilities, create new opportunities and encourage new development at the Port and for Northern New Brunswick, we were able to achieve and exceed our financial targets in 2016. There were various contributing factors including the generation of new business, the development of new clients and the formation of new partnerships.

Our strategy was clear: understand each of our product lines and aggressively promote the competitive advantage of each. With a focused approach to clearly understand the needs of our tenants and the opportunities in key sectors we have identified the necessary infrastructure to support growth and ensure ROI for all investments made. The Port also welcomed six new commodities over the course of the year, including bauxite, urea, limestone, mill scale, silica sand and road salt.

Regional Approach

One of our priorities was to increase public awareness about the importance of the Port of Belledune. Thus, over the past year, we have hosted elected officials from the Acadian Peninsula, Restigouche and the Chaleur region at the Port for introductory meetings and tours of the facility. The Port of Belledune also played host to members from all five First Nation communities within the immediate Bay of Chaleur region including Pabineau, Eel River Bar, Listuguj, Gesgapegiag and Gespeg.
Going forward we will continue to collaborate with regional leaders and stakeholders and we look forward to hosting various groups at the Port of Belledune again this year.

Anchored in Our Community

The BPA is quite fortunate to live and work in a supportive, business-friendly community. In return, we support worthy endeavors in the region donating to groups and charitable events.
As of 2008, the BPA implemented a policy stating that up to 5% of our Net Income would be designated as donations/sponsorships to support initiatives and organizations locally. In 2016 alone the Port of Belledune donated more than $75,000 within the region!

Thank you!

We certainly recognize and appreciate the valuable cooperation of our community members, clients, partners and leaders from all levels of government. The BPA benefits from a dynamic and engaged Board of Directors and a professional and committed staff. It is a privilege to work with the entire team and I extend my personal appreciation for their dedication to our mandate.
And, thank you for visiting with us today.! We look forward to helping you plan your next shipment through the Port of Belledune and we encourage you to grow your business with us!
